Outcomes addressed from the Australian curriculum
ST3-8ES - describes how discoveries by people from different cultures and times have contributed to advancing scientific understanding of the solar system
ST3-4WS - investigates by posing questions, including testable questions, making predictions and gathering data to draw evidence-based conclusions and develop explanations ST3-5WT - plans and implements a design process, selecting a range of tools, equipment, materials and techniques to produce solutions that address the design criteria and identified constraints EN3-2A - composes, edits and presents well-structured and coherent texts Class profileThis Science module is designed for students in Year 5.
In this class, there are 27 students; 11 girls and 16 boys. Students are aged ranging from 9-11 years, thus stages of development and degrees of academic ability vary. Due to the nature of the class, there is a strong focus on collaborative learning and Peer Assisted Learning. Students will be grouped in both a homogeneous and heterogeneous manner based on the activities set in this module to encourage creativity and collaborative learning. There are 6 computers in the classroom. |
EON Augmented Reality Solar System Application - Using AR Apps to explore the Solar System
|
session 2Hands On - creating a 3D model of the Solar System
|
session 3
AURASMA - using our learnt knowledge of the Solar System and applying it to a designed situation
|
session 4Sharing our ideas - Students are sharing what they have learnt and experienced
